Liz and I both have used Yelp for years. On my work trip to Washington D.C. I turned to Yelp for help finding a unique restaurant that wasn’t to be missed. Since this was in the outskirts of Georgetown on a Thursday night I decided to hit the tab for “make reservation”. Oops. I’d never properly signed up for Yelp and had been a lurker up until this point. The interview subject was arriving for the shoot and the producer was looking to me to see if I was going to let dining preparations slow us down. I quickly signed up, made the reservation, and got back to work.
The next day I received a Yelp email request to submit a review. I was sitting in the airport waiting for my flight so I thought what the heck, I’ll send in a review. Funny, the restaurant promptly responded with a thank you letter.
