For the past couple of days I’ve seen local TV news helicopters crossing overhead before & after local newscast times to cover the La Canada/Flintridge mudslide areas. We were not anywhere near danger areas.
This evening we moved across to the northeast side of the LA area. The third storm was predicted to produce heavy rains this afternoon with wind gusts up to 60 mph. The highways were surprisingly good and the winds were near calm. It took twice as long as the GPS predicted and we couldn’t see anything due to the heavy rains and fog but our travel was uneventful.
HH continues to be in a fit over the weather. We’ve put out a call for an appropriate umbrella for her and hope to obtain one tomorrow.

Stay dry! No mud baths! Get HH a fancy umbrella!
Congratulations! You are in California! Sorry about the rainy weather. It truly is unusual and will be better soon. We have enjoyed reading your blog. It sounds like you are having a great adventure. Please keep writing. We are so interested in what you are experiencing. Our best to you both!
Hey, guys! I tried to send you a note yesterday, but I must have been a victim of operator error because it didn’t seem to post. Contessa (our Bichon Frise) was reading your blog posts yesterday and wanted to make sure that I told Jon hi and that she thinks her stuffed friend, Hula Monkey, might be related to HH, but can’t seem to figure out why she can’t dance like HH. I told her I would pass on her comments and would also tell you how jealous we are of your adventures. Elizabeth and I both hope your travels continue to be exciting and safe. Hi, Liz!
HH might have gone out on a couple of dates with Hula Monkey… but, being part Californian, HH dumped him without warning or comment after Hula Monkey spent lavish amounts of money on her.
Don’t blame me, she’s not my daughter, I’m just her chauffeur.
